Big Water Heritage Trail

The successful project (originally implemented in 2003) is a heritage trail (a driving trail) that identifies, links, and marks sites of historical, cultural, natural, recreational and educational importance to the area. The Big Water Heritage Trail encompasses five counties surrounding Lake Okeechobee in Florida. The trail’s name, the Big Water Heritage Trail, stems from the Seminole word for Okeechobee, which means "Big Water".
